The whole installation takes about 30 seconds once you have done one, and the only real decision is whether your cover uses an elastic band or a drawcord at the back.<\/p>\n

That said, a small number of things can go wrong on the first install: the cover ends up crooked, the band sits in front of the tread instead of behind it, the drawcord does not fully tighten, or the design ends up rotated three inches off-center. None of these are hard to fix \u2014 they are all caught by paying attention to one or two things during the install.<\/p>\n

Installing a spare tire cover takes under one minute and requires no tools. Slide the cover over the spare with the design facing out, then either let the elastic band grip behind the tread (PU Leather, PVC) or tighten the drawcord at the back (Polyester, Marine Grade Vinyl, and the Anti-Theft Kit version).<\/strong><\/p>\n

What you need (nothing)<\/h2>\n

The cover is the only item required. No screws, no clamps, no adhesive, no tools. The cover ships with all attachment hardware (elastic band or drawcord) sewn in place.<\/p>\n

The one optional thing: a clean towel if the spare is muddy or dusty. Wipe the tread before installing so the cover seats cleanly against the tire.<\/p>\n

  1. Position the cover<\/strong> with the design facing out, away from the vehicle. The elastic band runs around the inside edge.<\/li>\n
  2. Pull the cover over the top of the spare<\/strong>, working it down around the sides. The elastic stretches as you pull.<\/li>\n
  3. Tuck the elastic behind the tread<\/strong> all the way around the tire. The band grips into the groove between the tread and the rim. Run a finger around the edge to confirm it is fully seated.<\/li>\n
