Built for vintage and 6th-gen Bronco — plus Bronco Sport

Ford abandoned the rear-spare layout for over two decades when the Bronco died in 1996 — then brought it back with the 6th-gen Bronco in 2021 as the defining feature. Our covers fit both eras:

  • Ford Bronco 6th gen (2021–present, 4-door): tailgate-mount spare, factory rear-tire backup camera. Stock LT255/75R17 → 32″; Wildtrak / Sasquatch on 35s → 35″.
  • Ford Bronco 6th gen (2-door): same setup. Sasquatch package adds 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT.
  • Ford Bronco Sport (2021–present): unibody crossover sister to the Bronco — spare lives inside the cargo area, NOT on the tailgate. Cover doesn't apply unless you've added an aftermarket rear-tire carrier.
  • Ford Bronco vintage (1966–1977, 1st-gen): the iconic short-wheelbase original. Rear-mount spare on aftermarket carriers; original layout had the spare under the cargo floor.
  • Ford Bronco vintage (1978–1996, 2nd through 5th gen): full-size Bronco with various spare locations. 30″–32″ cover for typical builds.
  • Ford Expedition (1997–present): some early models carried external spares; later models moved to internal storage.
  • Ford Explorer (1991–present): early Explorers (Eddie Bauer) carried tire-mount spares; later moved internal.
  • Browse the catalogs: Bronco covers · Bronco Sport covers · Expedition covers · Explorer covers

Vintage Bronco builds running 33″–35″ tires take the same cover sizes as the new 6th-gen — we hold every size from 30″ through 35″ in stock.

Free backup camera cutout, on every cover

The 6th-gen Bronco (2021+) ships with a factory backup camera mounted on the spare-tire bracket, similar to the Wrangler JL setup. Every cover ships with an optional centered camera-hole cutout calibrated for the 6th-gen Bronco factory camera position — at no extra cost. Vintage Broncos and pre-2021 Fords don't have spare-mounted cameras; leave the option set to "no."

To add it, select the "with camera hole" option at checkout. We cut the hole during production — no special order, no surcharge, no production delay.

Choose your material

Bronco owners run the gamut — Wildtrak weekend overlanders, Sasquatch trail rigs, daily-driver Outer Banks, and vintage 1st-gen restorations. Material spec depends on use case.

Polyester — $69 (Budget)

Lifespan 2–3 years. Drawstring cord attachment. Best for daily-driver Outer Banks and Black Diamond Broncos in covered parking. Lightweight, easy to swap.

PVC — $99 (Waterproof)

Lifespan 3–4 years. Elastic band attachment. For trail-day Wildtraks and Sasquatch builds running Moab's Hells Revenge or Pritchett Canyon. Pressure-wash safe after a slickrock day.

PU Leather — $129 (Premium look)

Lifespan 3–4 years. Elastic band attachment. The closest match to factory matte-black trim on Bronco Outer Banks and Wildtrak hardtop.

Marine Grade Vinyl — $169 (Heavy duty, printed and sewn in Florida)

Lifespan 5+ years. Drawstring cord attachment. The spec for vintage Bronco restorations. 1 mm heavy-duty Marine Grade Vinyl protects original 1966–1977 spares from UV breakdown — a real consideration for collector-grade builds. 5+ year lifespan.

Marine Grade Vinyl Lux — $199 (Top spec, printed and sewn in Florida)

Same Marine Grade Vinyl spec plus integrated anti-theft lock — exclusive to Marine Grade Vinyl Lux only. For Broncos parked at trailheads (Moab, Telluride, Anza-Borrego) where covers occasionally get tampered with by other rigs.

Cleaning note: Pressure washing is not recommended for any Wheel Shell cover, regardless of material. Hand wash with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly, and air dry. Pressure washing can damage the printed surface and shorten cover lifespan.

Color matching note: Matte PU Leather and Marine Grade Vinyl reproduce factory matte black most accurately. Glossy PVC and Polyester read as deep charcoal under direct sun. For OEM paint-match, send your paint code at checkout — we calibrate the print and send a proof before production.

Color matching: Ford's 6th-gen Bronco color palette is a defining feature: Cyber Orange, Area 51, Eruption Green, Cactus Gray, Velocity Blue, Carbonized Gray, Antimatter Blue, Race Red, Iconic Silver. Send the Ford paint code at checkout — we calibrate the print to match. Heritage editions in Yellowstone Metallic and Robin's Egg Blue available with code on request.

How it attaches to the 6th-gen Bronco tailgate spare

The 6th-gen Bronco swing-out tailgate spare is one of the cleanest cover applications on the market. Slides on in under a minute:

  • Elastic band (PU Leather, PVC): Stretches over the tire and grips behind the tread for a snug, factory-style fit.
  • Drawstring cord (Polyester, Marine Grade Vinyl, Marine Grade Vinyl Lux): Wraps over the tire and tightens with a drawcord. Adjustable for any spare diameter.

Both attachment systems clear the 6th-gen Bronco rear camera and stay put through the Wildtrak's 110+ mph top speed.

Frequently asked questions about Ford Bronco spare tire covers

What size for a stock 6th-gen Bronco?

Bronco Base / Big Bend on stock LT255/70R16 → 30″–31″ cover. Black Diamond / Outer Banks (LT255/75R17) → 32″. Wildtrak (LT285/70R17) → 33″. Sasquatch package (315/70R17) → 35″.

Will the camera-hole cutout work with my 6th-gen Bronco?

Yes — the camera-hole cutout is centered and sized specifically for the 6th-gen Bronco factory rear-tire camera position (similar mount to Wrangler JL). Select "with camera hole" at checkout. The cutout drops over the camera lens cleanly.

What size for a Sasquatch with 35s?

Sasquatch package ships with 315/70R17 → 35″ cover. We hold 35″ in stock; lifted Sasquatch builds running 37s take a 37″ cover (same as Bronco Raptor stock).

Will it work on a Bronco Raptor (37s)?

Yes — Bronco Raptor stock is 37×12.5R17 → 37″ cover. Custom sizing is free if you've gone larger.

Can I get a cover for my vintage 1st-gen Bronco?

Yes — vintage 1966–1977 1st-gen Broncos with aftermarket rear-tire carriers typically run 29″–31″ covers. For collector-grade restorations we recommend Marine Grade Vinyl for UV protection of the original spare. Vintage Broncos don't have factory rear cameras, so leave the camera-hole option set to "no."

Does the cover work on a Bronco Sport?

Bronco Sport (the unibody crossover) carries the spare INSIDE the cargo area, not on the rear hatch. The cover doesn't apply unless you've added an aftermarket rear-tire carrier. If you have a carrier-mounted spare, send the tire size at checkout.

Can I match Ford's 6th-gen Bronco colors?

Yes — Cyber Orange, Area 51, Eruption Green, Cactus Gray, Velocity Blue, Carbonized Gray, Antimatter Blue, Iconic Silver. Heritage Editions in Yellowstone Metallic and Robin's Egg Blue available with paint code on request. Send the code at checkout — we calibrate the print and send a proof.

Will the cover handle Moab / Pritchett Canyon trail use?

Yes — for trail-day Bronco use we recommend PVC ($99, fully waterproof, pressure-wash safe) or Marine Grade Vinyl ($169, 1mm heavy-duty, 5+ year lifespan). Both handle Moab's slickrock dust, Hells Revenge's sandstone abrasion, and Pritchett Canyon's mud baths.

Will the design fade in summer Texas / Arizona sun?

No — all materials use fade-resistant printing. For year-round outdoor parking in Texas Hill Country, Arizona desert, or Mountain West UV, Marine Grade Vinyl is the spec — 5+ year lifespan, printed in Florida.

Can I customize with my Bronco trim callout, club logo, or trail map?

Yes — common Bronco customizations: trim callouts (Wildtrak / Sasquatch / Outer Banks / Black Diamond — matched to factory typography), build names, trail maps (Moab, Telluride, Big Bend), club logos (Bronco Nation, Bronco6G, BroncoBuyer), vintage 1966 heritage typography. Free design proof, no minimum order.

How does it attach to the 6th-gen swing-out tailgate spare?

The cover slides over the spare and grips behind the tread (elastic band on PU Leather and PVC) or tightens with a drawcord (Polyester and Marine Grade Vinyl). Both clear the rear camera, third brake light, and Bronco rear-license bracket.

How long does shipping take?

Free worldwide shipping, 6–12 business days with tracking. Marine Grade orders ship from Florida; other materials from production partners.
