Built for every 4Runner generation — N60 to N280 TRD Pro
The 4Runner is the only body-on-frame mid-size SUV from a major Japanese brand still in showrooms. Same chassis architecture since 2009, same V6, same reputation for outlasting everything else. Stock spare hangs underbody on a winch (or rear-mounted on early N60). Whatever your generation, we size to your spare exactly.
- 4Runner N60 (1984–1989) — first-gen, based on Hilux pickup. Stock spare 31×10.50R15 typical on most trims. Some had the rear-mounted spare carrier (early model years).
- 4Runner N120 / N130 (1989–1995) — second-gen. Stock 30×9.50R15 to 31×10.50R15.
- 4Runner N180 (1995–2002) — third-gen with the legendary 5VZ-FE 3.4L V6. Stock 245/70R16 (SR5) or 265/70R16 (Limited / Sport). Underbody-mount spare.
- 4Runner N210 (2002–2009) — fourth-gen with the 1GR-FE V6. Stock 265/65R17 (SR5) or 265/55R20 (Limited).
- 4Runner N280 (2009–present) — fifth-gen, current. Stock 245/65R17 (SR5), 265/70R17 (TRD Off-Road), 265/70R17 muds (TRD Pro), 265/55R20 (Limited).
- 4Runner TRD Pro (2014–present) — the trail-rated 4Runner with FOX shocks, skid plates, locking rear differential. Stock 265/70R17 ATs.
5th-gen 4Runner owners are the most-modified mid-size SUV community in the US — lifted on 33-inch ATs, 35-inch muds, with rooftop tents, RTT mounts, drawer systems. The cover sits on the spare regardless of build spec.
Free backup camera cutout, on every cover
N280 4Runner has factory backup camera in the rear bumper or tailgate. Most owners with underbody-stowed spares don't need a camera hole because the camera isn't in the spare's path. If you've relocated the spare to a rear-mount carrier, send us the camera diameter and offset.
To add it, select the "with camera hole" option at checkout. We cut the hole during production — no special order, no surcharge, no production delay.
4Runner spare tire sizing — from N210 SR5 to TRD Pro 265s and lifted 35s
4Runners get tire upgrades constantly. Lifted on 33s with a 3-inch lift is the most common build. TRD Pro stock 33s, lifted to 35s on serious rigs. Use the lookup, then enter your actual tire's diameter at checkout.

Materials built for off-road use
| Material | Price | Lifespan | Durability | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Polyester Budget | $69 | Up to 2 yrs | Daily driver in covered parking or garage. Lightweight, UV-resistant, easy to swap. | |
| PVC Water-resistant | $99 | Up to 3 yrs | Trail rigs and weekend off-road use. Water-resistant, handles mud and brush scratches well. Clean with mild soap and water. | |
| PU Leather Premium look | $129 | Up to 3 yrs | Daily driver with OEM matte-black aesthetics. Best match for factory finishes on Jeep, G-Wagon, and Ford Bronco. | |
| Marine Grade Vinyl Heavy duty | $169 | Up to 5 yrs | Year-round outdoor parking, coastal humidity, desert sun, Arizona heat, sub-zero winters. 1mm heavy-duty construction, our most durable option. | |
| Marine Grade Vinyl + Anti-Theft Kit Top spec | $199 | Up to 5 yrs | Same Marine Grade Vinyl construction as above, with added locking anti-theft hardware. Best for high-visibility parking and long-term outdoor exposure. |
Cleaning note: Pressure washing is not recommended for any Wheel Shell cover, regardless of material. Hand wash with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly, and air dry. Pressure washing can damage the printed surface and shorten cover lifespan.
Color matching note: Matte PU Leather and Marine Grade Vinyl reproduce factory matte black most accurately. Glossy PVC and Polyester read as deep charcoal under direct sun. For OEM paint-match, send your paint code at checkout — we calibrate the print and send a proof before production.
Color matching: We've matched Cement and Lunar Rock TRD Pros, Magnetic Gray Limited, Quicksand TRD Off-Road. Cement and Lunar Rock are 4Runner-defining colors — iconic in the off-road community.
How the cover attaches to your 4Runner's spare
All N180, N210, N280 4Runners stow the spare under the rear cargo floor on a winch. Cover wraps the tire either way. Aftermarket builds with rear-bumper-mounted spares (Bumper Up, Slee Off-Road, etc.) work the same:
- Elastic band (PU Leather, PVC): Stretches over the tire and grips behind the tread for a snug, factory-style fit.
- Drawstring cord (Polyester, Marine Grade Vinyl, Marine Grade Vinyl Lux): Wraps over the tire and tightens with a drawcord. Adjustable for any spare diameter.
Drawstring is preferred for underbody-mounted spares because the cord stays tight when winding the spare back up under the chassis.

Frequently asked questions about Toyota 4Runner spare tire covers
What size cover do I need for my 4Runner TRD Pro?
Stock TRD Pro runs 265/70R17 muds, 31.6 inches (80 cm) overall. Same size for TRD Off-Road. If you've gone to 33s or 35s, just enter the actual tire diameter at checkout.
Will the cover fit my N180 (1995–2002) 4Runner?
Yes — N180 SR5 stock is 245/70R16 (29.5 inches), Limited is 265/70R16 (30.6 inches). Sized to fit. Many N180s on 33s or 35s now — custom sizing free.
Does the cover work for the underbody-stowed factory spare?
Yes — the cover stays on the spare whether it's under the cargo floor on the factory winch or relocated to a rear-mount carrier. Drawstring is best for underbody mounts.
Can I match the cover to my Lunar Rock TRD Pro?
Yes — 1J5 Lunar Rock is in our reference library along with Cement, Magnetic Gray, Quicksand, Nautical Blue Metallic, and the rest of the 4Runner palette.
Will the cover fit a 4Runner with a Slee Off-Road or Bumper Up rear-bumper-mounted spare?
Yes — aftermarket rear-mount carriers don't change cover fitment. Cover wraps the tire.
My 4Runner has a roof-rack-mounted spare. Will that work?
Yes — roof-rack spares work the same. Drawstring is preferred for roof mounts because it stays tight through wind.
Can I customize with the 5VZ-FE engine drawing for my N180 4Runner?
Yes — the 3.4L 5VZ-FE V6 is one of our most-requested 4Runner customizations. We've drawn the engine bay, the timing-belt service homage, and the iconic 'Toyota Trucks' nostalgia.
Will the cover survive Arizona summer or coastal Florida humidity?
Marine Grade Vinyl is built for both. UV stable, salt-resistant, 5+ year lifespan. Florida-printed.
How long does shipping take?
About 6–12 business days door-to-door, free worldwide.
Can I get the Trail Teams Edition or 40th Anniversary graphics on the cover?
Yes — we've drawn Trail Teams Edition, 40th Anniversary, and TRD Pro heritage graphics for various 4Runner trims. Approval-first, free design.
What about the upcoming 6th-gen 4Runner (N300, 2025+)?
Yes — we'll size as soon as factory specs are confirmed. Our renderer adapts to whatever spare size Toyota fits. Send us a note if you've ordered one and we'll prep your cover for delivery.
Will the cover fit the 4Runner Limited on the 20-inch wheel?
Yes — Limited runs 265/55R20 (31.5 inches overall). The compact spare under the floor may be smaller — check the actual sidewall numbers on the spare itself.
