Isuzu spare tire covers
Custom spare tire covers for Isuzu Trooper, Rodeo, VehiCROSS, D-Max, MU, Bighorn, and Wizard. Free backup-camera cutout, free custom design, free worldwide shipping. Built for the diesel-powered, body-on-frame SUVs and pickups that have hauled Australians, Africans, Thais, and overlanders down dirt for forty years.
Built for every diesel Isuzu since the first Trooper rolled off Fujisawa
Isuzu doesn't make passenger SUVs anymore in most markets, which is why every owner who still drives one is keeping it. The 4JG2, 4JX1, 4JJ1 — these motors run a million kilometres on a service schedule. Our covers are sized to match the spares Isuzu actually fitted: full-size body-on-frame Trooper through to the modern global D-Max.
- Isuzu Trooper / Bighorn (1981–2002) — first-gen short and long wheelbase, 1992–2002 second-gen UBS. Stock spare 245/70R16 or 245/75R16 on 16×7. The 3.1L 4JG2 turbo-diesel made these expedition staples across Africa and the Middle East.
- Isuzu Rodeo / Amigo / MU (1989–2004) — mid-size body-on-frame SUV (Rodeo five-door, Amigo / MU two-door). Stock spare typically 235/75R15 or 245/70R16 depending on trim. Sold as the Holden Rodeo in Australia.
- Isuzu VehiCROSS (1997–2001) — the limited-run two-door that's become a JDM/Y2K cult collectible. Stock spare 245/70R16 in the rear-mounted hard pod. Pod-mounted spares need a fitted soft cover, not the hard shell, so we size for the tire.
- Isuzu D-Max (2002–present) — the global Isuzu pickup. Stock spare 255/65R17 on most trims, 265/65R17 on the LS-U / X-Terrain. Sold as the Chevrolet D-Max in Latin America and the Holden Colorado in Australia (1st–2nd gen platform).
- Isuzu MU-7 / MU-X (2004–present) — the SUV based on the D-Max chassis, sold across Asia and Australia. Stock spare 265/60R18 on current MU-X.
- Isuzu Wizard (1989–2004) — Japanese-domestic name for the Rodeo / MU. If you imported one to the US under the 25-year rule, sizing matches the Rodeo of the same vintage.
If you're running a different aftermarket spare on your Trooper or D-Max — 285/75R16 muds on 16-inch steelies, for instance — just enter your actual sidewall numbers at checkout and we'll cut to that diameter for free.
Free backup camera cutout, on every cover
Late-model D-Max and MU-X come with rear cameras as standard. Older Trooper and Rodeo owners often retrofit a wireless camera onto the spare-mount bracket. Either way, give us the camera diameter and offset from centre and we cut a clean hole — finished, hemmed, no DIY scissors needed.
To add it, select the "with camera hole" option at checkout. We cut the hole during production — no special order, no surcharge, no production delay.
Isuzu spare tire sizing — from 31×10.5 muds to factory 245/70R16
Old-school Isuzus get aftermarket tires more than most — a 33×12.50 BFG All-Terrain on a Trooper isn't unusual. Use this reference, then size by the tire's overall diameter at checkout.

Quick Isuzu sizing reference:
- Trooper LS / Bighorn (1992–2002): 245/70R16 stock → 30 inch (76 cm) overall
- Trooper with 31×10.5 muds: 31 inch (79 cm) overall
- Trooper / Rodeo with 33×12.50: 33 inch (84 cm) overall
- Rodeo / Amigo / MU (1989–2004): 235/75R15 or 245/70R16 → 28–30 inch (71–76 cm)
- VehiCROSS (1997–2001): 245/70R16 in hard pod → 30 inch (76 cm) — soft cover sits over the tire inside the pod
- D-Max LS / X-Terrain (current): 255/65R17 or 265/65R17 → 30–31 inch (76–79 cm)
- MU-X 4WD: 265/60R18 → 30.5 inch (78 cm) overall
Always size by overall tire diameter (the number on the sidewall, not rim size). Custom sizing is free at checkout.
Choose your material
Isuzu owners are the most cost-conscious, durability-obsessed buyers we serve. People who paid $4k for a 280k-km Trooper aren't trying to spend $200 on a spare cover. Here's how the materials line up against the way Isuzus actually get used.
Polyester — $69 (Budget)
Lifespan 2–3 years. Drawstring cord attachment. Honest-budget option for daily-driver Rodeos and D-Max trucks parked under the carport. Holds up about 2–3 years before fading.
PVC — $99 (Waterproof)
Lifespan 3–4 years. Elastic band attachment. The pick for Trooper and D-Max owners in coastal humidity (Queensland, Florida, Thailand). Waterproof outer, snug elastic, three to four years.
PU Leather — $129 (Premium look)
Lifespan 3–4 years. Elastic band attachment. Our 4-out-of-5 durability rating. Premium leather grain that suits the rugged-but-clean look of a well-kept Trooper or VehiCROSS pod.
Marine Grade Vinyl — $169 (Heavy duty, printed and sewn in Florida)
Lifespan 5+ years. Drawstring cord attachment. What we recommend for any Isuzu that lives outside year-round, especially expedition Troopers and D-Max overlanders. UV-stable Florida-printed Marine Grade Vinyl is built for tropical sun and salt.
Marine Grade Vinyl Lux — $199 (Top spec, printed and sewn in Florida)
Same Marine Grade Vinyl spec plus integrated anti-theft lock — exclusive to Marine Grade Vinyl Lux only. Same 5+ year Marine Grade Vinyl, plus the integrated anti-theft lock. Worth it on rare and rising-value Isuzus — VehiCROSS, low-mileage Trooper LS, JDM-imported Bighorn.
Materials built for off-road use
| Material | Price | Lifespan | Durability | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Polyester Budget | $69 | Up to 2 yrs | Daily driver in covered parking or garage. Lightweight, UV-resistant, easy to swap. | |
| PVC Water-resistant | $99 | Up to 3 yrs | Trail rigs and weekend off-road use. Water-resistant, handles mud and brush scratches well. Clean with mild soap and water. | |
| PU Leather Premium look | $129 | Up to 3 yrs | Daily driver with OEM matte-black aesthetics. Best match for factory finishes on Jeep, G-Wagon, and Ford Bronco. | |
| Marine Grade Vinyl Heavy duty | $169 | Up to 5 yrs | Year-round outdoor parking, coastal humidity, desert sun, Arizona heat, sub-zero winters. 1mm heavy-duty construction, our most durable option. | |
| Marine Grade Vinyl + Anti-Theft Kit Top spec | $199 | Up to 5 yrs | Same Marine Grade Vinyl construction as above, with added locking anti-theft hardware. Best for high-visibility parking and long-term outdoor exposure. |
Cleaning note: Pressure washing is not recommended for any Wheel Shell cover, regardless of material. Hand wash with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly, and air dry. Pressure washing can damage the printed surface and shorten cover lifespan.
Color matching note: Matte PU Leather and Marine Grade Vinyl reproduce factory matte black most accurately. Glossy PVC and Polyester read as deep charcoal under direct sun. For OEM paint-match, send your paint code at checkout — we calibrate the print and send a proof before production.
Color matching: We've matched every Isuzu paint we get asked about — Splash White and Sahara Beige Trooper, the rare Cosmic Black VehiCROSS, Mineral Grey D-Max LS-U. Send us the paint code or just a clear photo of your tailgate and we'll match it before we print.
How the cover attaches to your Isuzu's spare
All factory Isuzu spare-mount setups are accommodated — the Trooper rear swing-out, the D-Max underbody hoist, the VehiCROSS rear pod, the Rodeo tailgate. Pick the attachment that suits how your spare is mounted:
- Elastic band (PU Leather, PVC): Stretches over the tire and grips behind the tread for a snug, factory-style fit.
- Drawstring cord (Polyester, Marine Grade Vinyl, Marine Grade Vinyl Lux): Wraps over the tire and tightens with a drawcord. Adjustable for any spare diameter.
VehiCROSS owners: a soft cover sits over the tire inside the molded hard pod — we size to the tire diameter, not the pod opening. The pod is decorative; the cover protects the tire underneath.
Free custom design — your Isuzu, your idea
Send us your idea and we draw it. Trooper UBS69 silhouette with your favourite trail. The 4JX1 engine line drawing. VehiCROSS "Ironman" graphics. Holden Rodeo or Australian-market D-Max LS-M badge. Family overland route across the Outback or Sub-Saharan Africa. We design it for free.
- Free design proof — no design fee, no minimum order
- Approval-first — we don't print until you sign off
- Most custom orders ship within 5–7 business days after proof approval
Common Isuzu customizations: Trooper / Bighorn UBS chassis silhouette, 4JG2 / 4JX1 / 4JJ1 engine art, VehiCROSS Ironman trim graphics, D-Max overland-route maps, AAMC / IsuzuClub / D-MAXNation club logos.

Frequently asked questions about Isuzu spare tire covers
What size cover do I need for my Isuzu Trooper / Bighorn (1992–2002)?
Factory Trooper LS spare is 245/70R16, which is 30 inches (76 cm) overall. If you've upgraded to 31×10.5 or 33×12.50 mud tires, measure the actual sidewall — we'll cut to that diameter at no extra cost.
What about the Isuzu Rodeo / Amigo / MU?
Rodeo and Amigo came on either 235/75R15 (early models) or 245/70R16 (later trims). MU is the same. Measure your spare tire's overall diameter and select that at checkout.
Will a soft cover fit inside the VehiCROSS rear pod?
Yes. The pod is a hard plastic shell — the spare tire sits inside it. Our soft cover wraps the tire itself, then the pod closes over the top. Size by the tire (245/70R16 stock = 30 inch) and we'll cut a camera hole if you've added a backup camera.
Does this fit my D-Max with the underbody-mounted spare?
Yes — size by tire diameter regardless of where the spare hangs. D-Max LS-U / X-Terrain runs 265/65R17, which is 30.5 inches (77 cm). LS-M / SX trims with 255/65R17 are 30 inches (76 cm). The cover slips over the tire before you wind it back up under the bed.
Can I get a cover with the Holden Rodeo or Holden Colorado badge?
Yes — we've done both. Send us the badge artwork or just a photo of your tailgate and we'll trace it. We've also made covers in the original Holden Rodeo lion-and-stone branding for Australian owners running pre-2008 trucks.
Is the cover OK for a JDM-imported Bighorn or Wizard?
Absolutely. JDM Isuzu nameplates were just market-specific badges — the trucks are mechanically identical to Trooper / Rodeo. Size by tire and we'll print Bighorn, Wizard, or your imported plate spec.
Can the cover handle Australian Outback sun and dust?
Marine Grade Vinyl is the answer. UV stable, 5+ year lifespan, Florida-printed and built for tropical sun. We ship to Australia regularly — freight runs about 6–12 business days door-to-door.
How do I customize the cover with the 4JX1 or 4JJ1 engine artwork?
Send us a reference photo or sketch — we draw it for free. We've done diesel-injection-pump diagrams, intercooler plumbing line-drawings, and the iconic 4JG2 turbo silhouette. Approval-first, no surcharge.
Will the cover fit if I've gone to bigger 33-inch tires?
Yes — just measure your actual tire's overall diameter (look at the sidewall: e.g., 285/75R16 = 33 inches) and enter that at checkout. We cut to your specs at no extra cost.
How long does shipping take to South Africa, Thailand, or Australia?
Production is 2–7 business days plus 4–5 business days transit by air freight. Total 6–12 business days to most Isuzu strongholds. Shipping is free.
Can I match the cover to my Trooper's Sahara Beige paint?
Yes — we've matched 575 Sahara Beige, 564 Splash White, 770 Cosmic Black (the rare VehiCROSS color), and the Mineral Grey on current D-Max. Send the paint code or a photo of the tailgate.
What if my Isuzu has a model-year-specific spare-tire bracket I'm not sure about?
We size based on the spare tire itself, not the bracket. Whatever the tire's overall diameter is — that's what we cut. The cover fits over the tire and stays put with elastic or drawstring regardless of mount type.
